New Building Fosters Connectivity and Sustainability

The recently opened economics building at 87 Trumbull Street boasts environmentally friendly features while connecting neighboring structures into a single complex.

Not only does the new building at 87 Trumbull Street connect Yale’s economics department facilities and house the Tobin Center for Economic Policy, it is also a major example of the university’s commitment to promoting environmental sustainability through its built environment. The LEED Gold building was made possible by generous gifts from Anita and Josh Bekenstein ’80, Amandine and Stephen Freidheim ’86, and an anonymous lead donor, along with more than 50 other individuals.
