Courtyard of SOM’s Evans Hall Named for Neil Shen ’92 MA

At the ten-year anniversary celebration of the School of Management’s Edward P. Evans Hall, the dean announced the courtyard’s new name and thanked other supporters of the school.

On April 5, the Yale School of Management (SOM) celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the school’s Edward P. Evans Hall. Kerwin K. Charles, the Indra K. Nooyi Dean of SOM, announced that the facility’s central courtyard would be named the Shen Courtyard in recognition of the generosity of Neil Shen ’92 MA, a longtime supporter of the school, chair of the Board of Advisors, and co-chair of Driving Purpose—The Yale SOM Campaign (part of the university-wide For Humanity campaign), and his wife, Jane Yong.

“It is an honor to share my name with this beautiful courtyard and to celebrate this milestone anniversary for Evans Hall,” said Shen. “SOM has always been a welcoming place for students from all over the world pursuing a rigorous, international business education. As the courtyard sits at the center of our campus, that welcoming spirit will always be at the heart of the school.”
