Jonathan Kim has over three decades of asset, legal, and executive management experience gained in the US and internationally. In addition to his role as an alternative investment advisor with Silicon Valley-based Zanbato Securities LLC, he maintains a private legal practice focusing on complex corporate, governance, and regulatory matters. Kim has served as a senior advisor to the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School (originally based at Yale) and is a guest lecturer at the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School.

Previously, Kim was general counsel and secretary for the Bermuda-based Montpelier Group of companies (NYSE: MRH). Earlier in his career, his experience included roles in investment management with AXA Advisors, in internet strategy with Modem Media Inc. (now part of the Publicis Groupe), and in corporate law and litigation with a Wall Street law firm and the United States Department of Justice. He has been a co-founder and advisor to start-up companies in the insurance, healthcare consulting, SaaS, and consumer packaged goods sectors. In addition to his investment, legal, and management backgrounds, Kim has served on numerous boards of directors in both the private and not-for-profit arenas.
 
Kim obtained his AB in English and American literature from Brown University, his MBA in finance and strategy from the Yale School of Management (SOM), and his JD from Georgetown University. He has served in many volunteer capacities for Yale and SOM and is currently a YAA delegate, president of the Yale Club of South Florida, a member of the SOM Alumni Advisory Board, and a director and treasurer of YLAN (Yale Latino Alumni Network), among other roles.

Kim is a member of multiple state and federal bars, is a CFP®, and holds various FINRA, insurance, and real estate licenses. A dual US/Italian citizen, Kim is originally from Boston. He and his wife, Gabrielle, (and their very pampered dog, a Pomeranian named Gatsby) split their time between Coral Gables, Florida, and New York City.
