Yale Development Council
Consisting of committed alumni, parents, and friends of Yale from across the country and around the world, the Yale Development Council is an essential partner in the university’s fundraising initiatives. Members, who serve for a term of three years, work together with Yale administrators and Office of Development staff in a dedicated effort to advance excellence across all areas of Yale.
Among their other activities, the Council meets twice annually—at least once in New Haven—to confer with and advise university and development leadership.
Members of the Yale Development Council play a critical role in the life of the university—as donors, advocates, volunteer leaders, and advisors. In addition to attending the spring and fall meetings, members can help support Yale’s fundraising efforts in many ways, including:
- Host a dinner, reception, or other gathering in your home, office, or club—bringing together alumni, parents, and friends to meet with university leaders and faculty members.
- Help us to identify new prospects and make introductions to those we ought to involve more closely with the university.
- Review lists of classmates, teammates, fellow parents, and others you may know to assess their potential for giving to Yale.
- Continue to be among Yale’s most generous donors.
