Since it’s founding, Yale’s mission has been to prepare dedicated individuals for service to society, and financial aid allows these students to refine their talents and pursue their chosen vocations without the burden of debt.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok ’12 MFA brings the stories of underrepresented groups to the stage. Her play Cost of Living made its Broadway debut last fall.
Education Without Debt
Professional education is expensive. Architects and artists need materials. Musicians need instruments. Students in all schools attend conferences. Tuition, books, supplies, fees, and the costs of living can be prohibitive to many.
Our professional schools have varying budgets for need-based and merit-based fellowships. As a result, many students take on large loans, some narrow their career options to avoid debt, and others may decide to forego Yale altogether. With your support, we aim to empower all admitted students, of every background, to pursue their passions to their fullest at Yale.

A $50 Million Challenge
A $50 Million Challenge
Medicine · Nursing · Public Health
Yale has announced a special challenge to build endowments in the schools of medicine, nursing, and public health. Between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2026, when a donor makes an endowed gift, the university will make an equal and unrestricted contribution to that school’s general endowment.
