Giving to Yale

Annual Giving

Annual giving to Yale provides a vital flow of unrestricted support for the University and its immediate needs. Alumni, parents, and friends help to sustain a robust environment for learning in and out of the classroom. Your gifts maintain spectacular facilities, support a stellar faculty, and fund curricular innovations. Most importantly, you supply scholarships that enable students to attend Yale regardless of their ability to pay.

Yale’s supporters have a long and generous tradition of annual giving—one that is even more important in today’s economic climate.

In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, 47,053 donors made annual gifts via the Yale College Alumni Fund, the Alumni and Annual Funds of the Graduate and Professional Schools, and the Parents Annual Fund. Ranging in size from under $25 to over $50,000, these contributions provided over $30.5 million to support the needs of Yale faculty and students. In 2009–2010, 7,125 donors also qualified as members of the Nathan Hale Associates, which recognizes leadership annual giving.
