Senior Class Giving Reaches All-Time High
The Class of 2011 broke all records this year with a Senior Class Gift campaign led by co-chairs Tully McLoughlin MC ’11 and Haley Cohen DC ’11. With a total of $40,808 raised and a 97% participation rate, these results surpassed the existing records held by the Class of 2010, which raised $29,670 and had a 91% participation rate.
Providing an extra boost were several donors who challenged all seniors to participate this year. These donors helped to bring the final impact of the gift to $240,000.
Directed to the Yale Alumni Fund, the gift provides critical resources that are put to immediate use in support of Yale’s core needs, such as financial aid. In addition, a portion of the gift will name scholarships for incoming freshmen in Calhoun, Ezra Stiles, Jonathan Edwards, Saybrook, and Silliman colleges, which all achieved 100% participation in the campaign.
This year’s Senior Class Gift campaign ran from February 1 to 22. Following tradition, the gift will be officially presented to Yale during Class Day festivities on Sunday, May 22.
